Quick answer: Debt review restructures your home loan, vehicle finance, credit cards and other credit into one payment you can afford, and the plan is made a court order. There is no income limit: it depends on whether you are over-indebted, not on what you earn. Start with a free assessment by phone, WhatsApp or online.

Debt review for Centurion households

A home loan, one or two vehicle finance agreements, and credit cards or store accounts on top: it is a common mix, and when interest rates or living costs rise it can push a household into arrears quickly. Debt review brings all of it into one restructured payment, while your home and cars stay protected on the agreements included in your plan.

There is no income limit. Professionals, business owners and high earners qualify in exactly the same way as everyone else: what matters is whether your debt repayments are more than you can afford after essential living costs.

Protecting your home and car

Once you apply and your credit providers are notified, they may not start new legal action or repossess on the accounts included in debt review, as long as you keep to your plan. The protection does not apply to an account on which a credit provider already sent you a Section 129 notice before you applied, so the earlier you act, the more we can protect.

You also do not have to pay off your home loan to finish debt review. When everything else is settled and your bond payments are up to date, you receive your clearance certificate.

How debt review works

Five steps, usually over 3 to 5 years. We handle the paperwork, the negotiations and the court application.

1. Assess

A free, no-obligation look at your income, living costs and debt, to see whether you are over-indebted.

2. Protect

We notify your credit providers and the credit bureaus. From then on they may not start new legal action on the accounts included.

3. Restructure

We negotiate lower instalments and interest with each credit provider, so the total fits your budget.

4. Order

Your restructured plan is made an order of the magistrate’s court, or confirmed by the National Consumer Tribunal.

5. Clear

You pay one amount a month through an NCR-registered payment distribution agency until you receive your clearance certificate.

Timing matters: if a credit provider has already sent you a Section 129 notice on an account, that account can no longer be included in debt review. Contact us as soon as you start falling behind, not when the summons arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Is your office in Centurion?

Our office is in Strubenkop, Pretoria East. Most Centurion clients never need to visit: the whole process works by phone, WhatsApp and email, and you are welcome to come in during office hours if you prefer to meet face to face.

Will debt review stop my car from being repossessed?

Yes, for vehicle finance included in your debt review, as long as you apply before the credit provider sends a Section 129 notice on that agreement and you keep to your plan.

I earn a good salary. Do I still qualify?

Yes. There is no income limit. We look at what is left after your essential expenses, and if that is not enough to cover your debt repayments, you are over-indebted and debt review can help.

Can I keep a credit card for emergencies?

No. While you are under debt review your credit cards, store cards and overdrafts are closed to new spending, and you may not take on new credit until you receive your clearance certificate.

Will my employer find out?

Debt review is never published and we do not contact your employer. A debt review flag does appear on your credit report, so anyone who runs a credit check with your consent will see it until you are cleared.

Ready to find out where you stand?
